FAQ
How can I pay for my rental car?
Payment for a rental car should preferably be made by credit card. It is possible to pay by debit card, however at the rental counter you will need a credit card issued to the main driver in order to secure the deposit for your rental car.
Who is allowed to drive the rental car and what are the conditions?
A rental car can be driven by a main driver, that is the person registered in the booking. Additional drivers may be added to the reservation at extra fee. The main and additional drivers are to present a valid driving license, which they have been in possession of for at least one year (please refer to the rental conditions), and a valid identity card/passport. Additionally, the main driver is to present a valid credit card issued in their name.
Do I have to pick up and return the car at any time? What happens if I am late for pick-up?
We recommend that you pick up the car at the agreed time as the availability of the car cannot be guaranteed in case of a delay. As a rule, local suppliers keep vehicles available up to 30 or 60 minutes after the agreed time. If a delay is inevitable, please contact the rental agency (you will find their contact details on the voucher).
What documents are required to pick up the vehicle?
When picking up the vehicle, the main driver is to present the following documents: the printed voucher, their identity card or passport; their driving's license and their valid credit card.

Attractions

Southampton is also home to a balance between the air and the sea, as two major contributions to the city recognition deals with these elements. This English port town also has a rich history of both triumphs and tragedies. On the fateful day of April 10th, 1912 the unsinkable ship, RMS Titanic left the Southampton port to embark on the journey to the United States, only to be sunk in the cold waters of the Atlantic near Newfoundland after hitting an iceberg. The triumph can be seen that despite the setback, Southampton is a major player in the international cruise sector with some of the largest ships calling Southampton their home.

Both the city and the port played important roles during the Second World War. The port was accredited with being one of the launch sites for the storming of Normandy on D-Day. The city was the place where the famous Spitfire plane was developed.

Use your care hire Southampton to park and take a self-guided walking tour through the streets of Southampton on the Medieval Town Walls and Old Town walk. With over 90 buildings and 30 monuments, this walk is full of rich culture, architecture and history. Walk along some of the oldest Medieval walls in all of England. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the city on a budget while still getting the full experience.

Football fans should not miss out on the chance to visit the home of the Premier Leagues Southampton F.C. at St. Mary’s Stadium. With a capacity of almost 33,000, this is the largest stadium in the south of England, besides London.

Museums

SeaCity Museum is a great chance to learn more about the Titanic and the sea, both of which play such an important role for Southampton. Discover the lives that were affected by the creation and destruction of the famously unsinkable ship. This maritime museum will make you understand why Southampton is considered the gateway to the world and how the sea has had such a prominent effect on the citizens.

Exploring how people lived in the past is always a treat to see, especially when the museum is built in a 15th century timber house. The Tudor House and Garden allows visitors of all ages to learn about how life was back in the olden days. The house is located in the heart of the Old Town. It is great for visitors of all ages.

Flyboys and flygirls can learn about the golden age of aviation at the Solent Sky Museum. Between 1910 until 1960, the workers in the Solent area produced all kinds of flying machines, such as rocket fighters, helicopters, and hovercrafts. Adults and children alike can enjoy the museum where they can sit in a real fighter jet cockpit. Learn about the

Excursions

If you want to explore more of the English countryside, look no further than Portsmouth, which is only 31 km (19 miles) southeast of Southampton. While they have been considered two separate cities, by 2011, Portsmouth and Southampton have merged to be the sixth largest built-up area in England. Discover the United Kingdom’s only island city, which is home to literary legend Charles Dickens.

Another British highlight is London, only a mere 121 km (75 miles) northeast of Southampton. Car hire Southampton allows this trip of a lifetime to happen. Discover the contrast between London’s rich history, including such places as Big Ben, the Parliament building, and Westminster Abbey to London’s rich pop cultural, including the telephone booths, taxicabs and double decker busses, there are many things to do. London is calling so you should answer the phone.
