About Alicante Airport
Alicante Airport opened in 1967 and quickly started receiving international flights from other airports such as Valencia. When it was receiving a million passengers in just three years, another terminal was built, and then a few years later when the number rose to 2 million, the terminal was expanded further. In 2011, a brand new terminal was built that was to replace all other terminals and at 10 million passengers a year demand is still growing today.
The new terminal, referred to as Terminal N, is more than five times the size of the two previous terminals and there is a wide range of things to do to pass the time, including restaurants, shopping opportunities and executive lounges.
The outstanding location of the airport, located just 5 miles south of downtown Alicante, means that you can immediately take advantage of the primary road network with a car rental Alicante Airport and through into Spain, a diverse country with great beaches, fun nightlife and historic cities. Alicante itself is a popular tourist destination, known for its beaches, food and raucous nightlife. You can also easily access roads that lead into the rest of Spain and all the major cities in the country like Madrid, Seville, Malaga, and Barcelona with a speed, convenience and personal freedom that public transportation just can’t beat. There is so much to see in this part of the world and a car hire Alicante Airport can make this journey a reality.
